Drumroll please.... So as its the summer (kind of) I thought I would pick a book that reflected the lovely weather we are having. I've had a cheeky read of the first chapter and the writing style seemed ok to me so hopefully it will be a little easier to read than the last book! According to Goodreads it seems to once again be a marmite book, so hopefully we can have some more lively discussions The Girls - Emma ClineNorthern California, during the violent end of the 1960s. At the start of summer, a lonely and thoughtful teenager, Evie Boyd, sees a group of girls in the park, and is immediately caught by their freedom, their careless dress, their dangerous aura of abandon. Soon, Evie is in thrall to Suzanne, a mesmerizing older girl, and is drawn into the circle of a soon-to-be infamous cult and the man who is its charismatic leader. Hidden in the hills, their sprawling ranch is eerie and run down, but to Evie, it is exotic, thrilling, charged—a place where she feels desperate to be accepted. As she spends more time away from her mother and the rhythms of her daily life, and as her obsession with Suzanne intensifies, Evie does not realize she is coming closer and closer to unthinkable violence, and to that moment in a girl’s life when everything can go horribly wrong. My local library has a few copies and you can get from Amazon for £0.27 plus postage or £3.85 new using the below link: www.amazon.co.uk/Girls-Emma-Cline-ebook/dp/B019CGY1AC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1496341552&sr=8-1&keywords=emma+clineHappy reading everyone

This sounds like one I might enjoy. I've checked the library and there are at least 40 copies in the county so I shall reserve one after my current reservations have come in.

I also must have been a mind reader as reserved the Girls the other day. Been into the library today to pick it up however only have two weeks to read it so I might take it back and try and get it back out or might start it.

I'll join in too, but I'll wait a week or two to reserve the book, as I have plenty to read just now!
