The Postscript Murders - Elly Griffiths
The Night Hawks - Elly Griffiths
It's amazing that these were among them as they are quite recent

This is an amazing haul, well worth giving up the resolution for! Both the Keigo Higashinos are very good (then again, there isn't anything of his that I didn't like), Dial A for Aunties was legit hilarious and I thought Village of Eight Graves was also very well-written. It's quite new too, I'm surprised that you can already find it in a charity shop. I thought of you when I found the books, Adelyne - I knew you'd read several, including Dial A for Aunties, and if they'd been in Cambridge I would have wondered if you donated them! But they weren't... and also I'm sure you would treat your books better than this person did. Looks like she turns back the covers and reads in the bath. But I'm not complaining if that's why they were so cheap! even reading those words makes me cringe slightly!

Three library books collected this morning.
The Ballad of the Sad Café by Carson McCullers ( didn't know she was a woman). Les Braises (Embers in English) by Sandor Maraï, set in Hungary. Ce qui n'a pas de nom by Piedad Bonnet (that which has no name), written in Spanish, doesn't appear to have been translated in English.

I went to Pontypridd indoor market with a friend from book club yesterday (via some charity shops) as it has a massive second hand book stall (well actually its 3 stalls) and it was like a literal warren of tiny little corridors piled high to the ceiling with books - he had a separate section which appeared to be non-fiction and classics but had modern books crammed in as well as I guess he had plain ran out of room anywhere else. It was a total OMG moment when I first saw the place and Rachel showed me around! Anyway I managed to only come home with 14 books lol. Rachel ended up with 30 plus more for her kids lol The Hermit by S R White Three Women by Lisa Taddeo Hot Milk by Deborah Levy A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving Burning Bright by Tracy Chevalier Common Ground by Rob Cowen The Dinner Party by R J Parker The Low Road by Chris Wormsley Paper Ghosts by Julia Heaberlin A House of Knives by William Shaw Ark Baby by Liz Jensen The Trick to Time by Kit De Waal The Coffin Maker's Garden by Stuart MacBride The Story Keeper by Anna Mazzola Rachel gave me Dead Water by Ann Cleeves Another friend at book club gave me Hatchet by Gary Paulsen on Thursday night

The Fallen & The Risen by Tarn Richardson (2 & 3) The Book of Accidents by Chuck Wendig
I had a good sort out of the wishlist yesterday and managed to find these offers. I also marked up what was available at the library (small sad person that I am).

My mother gave me four books to donate to our shop yesterday. I took three of them in but couldn't resist keeping Jane of Lantern Hill by L M Montgomery to read first!
