Reading went pretty well this weekend! Finished How to Fall in Love by Cecelia Ahern, which I didn't love as much (nor did it make me cry as much) as what I consider her "flagship" book P.S. I Love You, but she remains one of my favourite authors and this was a solid story by her. I thought the first half could have gone a bit more quickly, as a lot happens in the second that was really quite good.
Also finished listening to Too Close by Gayle Curtis, in part because I got fed up (but equally curious as to what happens) and sped it up to as fast as I could to still be able to follow what the narrator was saying. It's not really one of those where the reveal comes at the end, so jumping ahead to the last 5 chapters didn't work. The characters were so legitimately miserable, and I hated how inconsistent they were from one chapter to another - it was almost as though there were multiple "casts" of the same character throughout the book.
On audio, I'm about a third way through The Curfew by T.M. Logan, which is shaping up well and I'm really intrigued. It's at that point where there are loads of questions in my head, so I'm excited to get back to it tomorrow.
And in a bit I will go curl up in bed and start my next planned tree book: The Interview by C.M. Ewan.

Now reading Pink Lemonade Cake Murder by Joanna Fluke. This was dreadful! So many repetitions eg the industrial oven and checking through the spyhole in the door before opening the door. And so many recipes. It felt, in my opinion, that the author was trying to bump up the word count and a lot of it felt like hot air. I rather think that this series has reached the end of its run.

Finished The Collected Regrets of Clover by Mikki Brammer. The story of Clover, thirty-something, very solitary. She is a thanadoula, helping people through their last moments. A little fluffy but a very satisfying read, 4*.
Then flew through The Christmas Murder Game by Alexandra Benedict. Zoom buddy read, no comments now.
Followed by Se résoudre aux adieux by Philippe Besson. Not translated. 4* because the main character was a whiner.
Now starting Small Things like These by Claire Keegan. At last available from the library. Very short. Next up will be Homecoming by Luan Goldie, my book for Kenya.

Now reading The Midnight Lock by Jeffery Deaver - a Lincoln Rhyme book. Haven't read a book by Deaver for years.

One Lost Soul by J L Dalgliesh is my current read. Unfortunately this was another bad choice for me as regards proof reading and editing as there didn't seem to be much done of either.

The one-book-at-a-time plan is going well for me, finished The Christmas Murder Game by Alexander Benedict. Zoom buddy read, so like sarita, will not say more apart from that I loved it!
Also finished The Interview by C.M. Ewan, which was a quick read despite its size. I loved the plot, the author is very creative and writes well, though there were too many "action scenes" for my liking still I gave it 4*.
Up next will be a pre-order that's just arrived: The Meiji Guillotine Murders by Futaro Yamada. I'm super excited to read this, and I love it when I forget publication dates for pre-orders and so get a nice surprise when they suddenly show up

I just don't have any patience with "Death and Croissants" and I noticed yesterday that it is reserved by someone else so I can't renew it to try later so that will be back to the library this weekend.
Instead I'm going to read some short stories by Reginald Hill, one of my favourite authors and the creator of Dalziel and Pascoe.

Just finished Homecoming by Luan Goldie, my choice for Kenya. Well, there was some Kenya in the background but it was mostly chick-lit. 3*.
Starting Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin.

Decided that The Meiji Guillotine Murders is one of those that would be better read in big chunks, which I don't have the time and focus for these days, so I will instead save it for the Christmas holidays! Instead I started The Wolf Den by Elodie Harper, which is proving a bit of a struggle. But over the weekend, I was wandering around London while waiting for a play to start. Ended up in Foyles and picked up two books, one of which I whizzed through yesterday: I want to die but I want to eat tteokbokki by Baek Sehee. It's a bizarre sounding title but that actually makes a lot of sense with regards to the book, and I gave it 5* for the effect it had on me despite not really liking the format. I probably read it at just the right time to appreciate it though, it's not a "book for all times", if you will.
I also finished listening to The Curfew by T.M. Logan, which was so good on audio (by Richard Armitage). Bit longer than it needed to have been, the characters ran around doing what I felt like very illogical things for about 10 chapters, but a solid 4* nonetheless.
I've also just got hold of a copy of Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin, which I see sarita has started, so I think I'll start that next. And on audio I found wishlister A Line to Kill by Anthony Horowitz on Borrowbox, so that will be my next listen.
