Up next will be The Truths We Hold by Kamala Harris (because I am too lazy to figure out which authors share a name with a US Vice President, I've just decided to read one by an actual Vice President ) and Heat Wave by Richard Castle. That is genius, wish I hadn’t already read it, or I’d steal that idea, lol! Nat

Finished The Truths We Hold by Kamala Harris, a bit disappointed as I didn't think it was sufficiently about her to be marketed as a memoir. It was mostly about her political stances and beliefs, and only very minimally about her life and how she got to where she is. There is a little tidbit at the start of each chapter, more as a segue into the politics talk. If I had realised that this was what it is about (and also that it was published in 2019, before her presidential campaign), then I probably wouldn't have wanted to read it.
Then I started Nudge by Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein for my NF.
Also finished my fiction read Heat Wave by Richard Castle, which I found was ok on the crime/mystery front but the idea of a journalist tagging along with a detective was just too weird a vibe and I found it impossible to take much of the investigation seriously as a result.
Up next will be The Meiji Guillotine Murders by Futaro Yamada, which I pre-ordered for back in December then put off reading several times now as I was busy at work and this was one I wanted to be able to read in large chunks to get into the atmosphere. Work's a bit less busy these days so perfect time to get stuck in!

I stayed up past my bedtime last night to finish Iron Flame - it was worth the tiredness I feel this morning Tonight I'll start The Last Word by Elly Griffiths which continues her Harbinder Kaur series.

Finished Nudge by Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein, a bestseller but not the best book I've seen on the topic - while informative, I found the writing quite dry and difficult to follow. The authors seem to try and lighten this with a bit of banter between them, but I didn't really find that worked for me. Haven't yet picked out my next NF to start.
Also finished Karma by Sadhguru on audio, which was really like meditation - very little that I didn't already know but there was the occasional enlightening phrase that kept me listening. Also, I found his voice strangely relaxing to listen to.
Then I started my book that includes a train journey: Midwife on the Orient Express by Fiona MacArthur.
