aileen11 You don't have your TBR listed, or we might have been able to say which books might fit..... you are on your own, lady!! You don't want this forum crashing under the weight Susan . Future and, to a certain extent, magic, are not really my thing, and I definitely don't do weepies! Was hoping the death chapter of the John Le Mesurier biog. would raise at least a lump in my throat, but no, I kept my upper lip stiff throughout.
Still looking though, and I'm bound to visit a charity shop or two in the meantime...

I'm struggling with the magic one as well, may have to resort to Harry potter or something aileen11. Not sure if you have read any J.D Robb books but they are set in the future but not too far it becomes too unbelievable and they are crime fiction the first one in the series is Naked In Death you may be able to pick it up from Amazon for cheap? I have books against all the other parts I've just been putting off reading them as they really aren't my normal type of book and I cannot get excited by them!

Also what about 'a book written in the point of view of the opposite sex' i.e. if you are a lady then from a blokes point of view if that makes sense

Thanks for the suggestion elliej84, but I think I've cracked it now, and not too far from JD Robb, though they are a bit tenuous.
For magic, I've got a Nora Roberts (aka JDR) set on an island cursed by three witches. For the future, I've found 2001: A Space Odyssey. I suppose today it could be classed as history, but it was the future when it was written in 1968! Can also cross it off the 1001 list. For the weepie, I've chosen Steve & Me by Terri Irwin, the story of The Crocodile Hunter. He always made me laugh, so I'm hoping to squeeze out a tear or two of laughter or sadness.
Now for time to read them!

OOh I didn't think of that series aileen11 I think I may have that on my shelf somewhere. These are what I have left: A classic romance - Pride & Prejudice A book more than 100 years old - A Heart of Darkness A book with magic - A book set during Christmas - A Perfect Christmas - can only read it during December though A book set in the past (i.e 200 years) - The Miniaturist (although if I'm not being strict to 200 + years then I have already read a few so that one may already be complete)

elliej84 My magic book will be Dance Upon the Air by Nora Roberts. It's part one of a trilogy, I also have the second one, but read the third a few years ago before I realised. If its of any use to you, I can pass it on.

sarita It's badly worded - but it's book by your favourite author that you've yet to read. Does that help? It confused me as well!
