As I hope to attend the BookBarn meet at the end of the month, I've been looking at wish lists, in case I have / find something I could bring along .. However, I seem to have missed you both when friending everyone here on GR .. I have now found MandyJ and sent a request, but I cannot find you Celia .. my GR link is above somewhere, or find me through another member on here .. mandyj .. celia48 Sorry I took so long to accept your friend request on GR - I only accept requests from people I already know or people who have a good reason for wanting to be my friend! It took me a while to realise I did in fact know you! We are now friends....

I thought that it was very clever that I could 'automatically' update my book-list on GR when I downloaded a new one to my kindle .. You can now highlight and save sentences or paragraphs from any kindle book you own onto your GR listing .. you (and friends) can also add comments ..
I have saved a few sentences from both Bleak House and Ann of Green Gables and find this is a lovely way to 'keep a reminder' of clever pieces of prose and how reading the book made me feel ..
I know a couple of you have found this too .. What do you think ??

I do usually write down any quirky quotes from books in my Book Journal

I take pics of sentences in tree books that I like with my iPad, but I've found when I go back to read them a few months later, many have lost their impact ..

Not sure if anyone already knows this but I've just found out something new/useful on GR
If you don't know what to read next from your tbr you can use GR's Random Sort option to choose for you!
Go to your tbr shelf (or another you want to pick from) and scroll to the bottom on the page (that may take some time for a few of you) lol, then go to the second search box along 'sort' (the first one being 'per page') click on the down arrow and scroll down the list until you see 'Random' and click on it then pick the book at the top of the list!
I might try this for my 'tbr next' shelf so I don't leave some of them sat there for ages.

That's great Mandy, especially as my TBR list on GR is books I acquired some time ago so will help me to choose some oldies

I think this will be great for my / our Amy Cross shelves .. and perhaps to help pick my next Classic read too ..

The other day Mum said she should have started a list of what she had read this year (and the last couple) .. So, being a good daughter, I've just made more work for myself by adding her on GR today .. Ha Ha !! Hopefully, I can teach her the basics ..

Looks like GR have been having stats problems again. The site has been telling me for the last few weeks that I am as many as 11 books behind on my Challenge, I've just updated my latest book and am now only 6 books behind

The site has been telling me for the last few weeks that I am as many as 11 books behind on my Challenge, I've just updated my latest book and am now only 6 books behind I did see that there was a problem with the completion dates being registered, so this would have an impact on the Challenge .. That was a good surprise ..
