I have a Kindle and a Kindle Fire. For the past few weeks I keep getting messages that there are problems with lack of internal storage space on my Kindle Fire. I don't really understand why this is as I don't have loads of things on it. Anybody else have the same issues? I will have to contact Amazon and see what they can advise. I know you can buy something for extra storage but don't think \\\i need one as I think there's a problem somewhere and don't want to spend money, only to find it doesn't work! Help and advice please, Thanks,Sal

I don't have a Fire so can't help you from personal experience, Sal. However, a quick Google found this article which looks useful - as it says, your problems might well be caused by apps running in the background and using available memory, even if you haven't got much on there and even if you think you've closed things down. Anyway, try these tips and see if they help: How to Clean up Your Kindle Fire

Sorry Sal, I do not have a separate kindle device, just use the App on my iPad .. However, sometimes when you delete stuff, a thumbnail remains in the memory, so it is not fully removed. When I delete a book from the App, I still have to go to my Amazon account under Manage Devices and Content to delete the book from there as well. This then clears the cover from my App bookcase, and I assume any residual thumbnail .. That at is all I can suggest to help you ..

I see Penny has given you some useful tips. I was going to say that it is probably applications that are using up the space. Kindle Fire is just an android tablet and not the same thing as a Kindle. There will no doubt have been dozens of apps on the device when you purchased it, many of which you probably never use but which get updated automatically and increase their volume. I recently got a notification on my Samsung tablet telling me it couldn't update applications because of lack of memory space. I've deleted some of my documents and photos off and cleared the caches of the apps I use all the time. This appears to have solved the problem short term but I think over the break I will look at uninstalling some of the apps that I know I never use and which aren't connected with other things.

I've got a kindle fire but have never had this problem, I've got hundreds of books on there and plenty of apps as well. Might be worth having a chat with amazon, their online chat option is quite good
