I have great hopes for every read (not always getting a happy result) but my hopes for this were rewarded. A.I.s that can converse with humans (not robots, just programmes) are here for you to meet, some decent humans, some crazy humans and some totally not very nice ones. And of course there is a villain - how could there not be? Each short chapter is headed with the name of the character currently speaking, which helps a lots as there are loads of chapters - but it didn't take me long to get the hang of it all. The A.I. characters are just as human as the humans - of course they would be - the programmes were written by humans.
But once the AIs get out of the box (or out of the lab, as it were) and go swanning around on the www, then expect a few things to happen. And you don't think this might come to pass? Think again, human.
