A virus sweeps across the globe, eventually killing about 80% of the world's population. Of the people who survive, some are simply immune and others possess and nurture magical skills (witches, faeries, elves etc) - the Uncannies. However, there is one group of Uncannies who are evil and so the fight between good and evil commences.
Paddy 1005 sent me this book and it's certainly not the sort of book I would have chosen. I confess that I almost put it down after a few pages but, as it was recommended, I continued to the end. I did become hooked although much of it was really too far fetched for me and some parts a bit too gory. However, I believe it is good to try something new and it was certainly different to what I usually read.
If anyone would like it, I am happy to pass it on and hear what others think.

I read the series this year and I often think of the 2 leading characters and thought it is better than expected. It doesn't happen often for me to keep thinking about a book once I've finished
