Here's my choice - I've seen a few of you have it/want to read it.
Anyway, hope you enjoy!
The Toymakers by Robert Dinsdale
It is 1917, and while war wages across Europe, in the heart of London, there is a place of hope and enchantment.
The Emporium sells toys that capture the imagination of children and adults alike: patchwork dogs that seem alive, toy boxes that are bigger on the inside, soldiers that can fight battles of their own. Into this family business comes young Cathy Wray, running away from a shameful past. The Emporium takes her in, makes her one of its own.
But Cathy is about to discover that the Emporium has secrets…

Janice this one sounds very intriguing. Has anyone a copy they could let me borrow? Happy to pass on after reading.

Ahh I didn't realise we were into Q3 already, time has really flown by this year. I'd never heard of this book but it sounds intriguing, and I generally enjoy historical books set around the World War period so will be giving this one a go. Have ordered a used copy on Amazon, thanks peppercricket for the book choice!
P.S. If you can wait for it to arrive, and for me to read it, I'd be happy to send it onto you afterwards cornishgirl3 - it is second hand though, and Amazon can be a bit hit-and-miss, so no idea re: book condition.

When I first looked at this I wasn't sure if it was my sort of thing. However, having looked at the reviews on Amazon, I'm now really intrigued so have ordered my copy and will be joining in.

That one's available in my nearest library! I'll pick it up next week if no one nabs it before I get there.

Mary just pipped you to the post this time Susan. However, she has said that she'll be happy to forward it to you afterwards. I plan to start it as soon as I've finished this month's circle book so hopefully I shouldn't be too long.

I can wait Jeannine! after all, a quarter is 3 months, and I can clear some of my own reading backlog before it arrives! (thanks cornishgirl3)
