This is all quite scary for me, being chosen to pick a Book to put forward for our Quarterly Book Club Read .. We all like so many different styles and genres, that I have spent quite some time trying to narrow down my initial thoughts of what would be suitable .. I know this reveal is a little early, and some of you are still to start The Toymakers, however, you may need to get a reservation in at your Library TODAY to get hold of a copy of this one before New Years Eve !! .. Where The Crawdad's Sing by Delia Owens
" For years, rumors of the “Marsh Girl” have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand. Then the time comes when she yearns to be touched and loved. When two young men from town become intrigued by her wild beauty, Kya opens herself to a new life–until the unthinkable happens .. "Hope you all enjoy !! I will open the discussion thread in a few weeks time ..

How time has flown! I recall you saying on a thread a couple of months back that you had an idea for this, and I thought I'd have to wait ages to find out by here we are. This one sounds right up my street so I'm definitely in, will go and have a look at options at getting hold of a copy when I have a bit of time during the week.

adelynechan - can I nip in and say yes please? And no hurry, as there is a three month window.... so if anyone wants it first, I will take it after.

Ooh I will join in with this if only to see what the fuss is all about on the internet about this one!! Good choice ETA: my library don't seem to have it in any format! Might have to pop in.

I tried this on audiobook a few months ago and didn't get on well with it - but that might well have been the format. I do find some audiobooks very hard to concentrate on. It's not on our Borrowbox in ebook format, but if I can get a physical copy from the library I'll give it another go. It certainly gets rave reviews on Amazon which makes me think it was me/wrong format, rather than the book itself.
