GR is offering me recommendations based on my given up books! Probably more books to DNF! Systems can be daft sometimes 😃

Ahha, same! It says "Because you liked (Book X)..." and I'm here thinking "But I gave that 2 stars, which is terrible!"

It does the same with me, often with ridiculous suggestions.

I rarely look at Goodreads nowadays, except to look at wishlists when book fairying. Just noticed I have been recommended a book written in Dutch. Not a translation, a book actually written in Dutch! They clearly have an over optimistic opinion of my linguistic capabilities....

I know we often chat about Goodreads recommendations and agree that they are a bit of a laugh, but Goodreads really knocked it out of the park for me today with this:
RECOMMENDATIONS Based on your Dropped shelf a few recommendations: Seven Years of Darkness
Why on earth would anyone recommend me something based on my Dropped shelf?! Considering I don't drop many books too, so these were ones that I really did not get on with!

I love the Goodreads recommendations ... my favourite was a recommendation of a high fantasy novel based on the fact that I was reading Nightingales in November, which is a nature book!

Just had another one today. I'm reading a gentle cat book with lovely drawings and GR is suggesting a French book which I read 30 years ago and still remember asnone of the harshest and most disturbing child abuse stories I've ever read. Go figure.
Except I know the author has just published a new book so is it just stupid marketing?
