I've done a family get-together in August for several years now (with the exception of last year) usually with a theme. This year the theme is Books and Food!
I have got Roald Dahl's Revolting Recipes, Nanny Ogg's Cookbook and The Pooh Cook Book (as in Winnie the Pooh) and have gone through other books to get inspiration eg the list of picnic items that Ratty takes on his first trip along the river with Mole in the Wind in the Willows, and the demands that the dwarves put on Bilbo when they first gather at his house before setting off in the Hobbit.
But I'm a bit stuck for drinks, with the exception of frobscottle from the BFG and butterbeer from Harry Potter. Can anyone point me in the direction of a quote from a (preferably reasonably well known) book that gives a description of a drink or drinks? I'll probably be offering completely different selection, but I'd like to have a quote... Non-alcoholic would be a bonus!!
I've added a pic of the invitations, but it was too big in megabytes and now I've made it smaller, it is almost too small to see!!) They are Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 'golden tickets' with a booklet of quotes (alternating books/reading, and food) on the other side

There's the "Drink Me" bottle in Alice in Wonderland... might be worse than alcoholic though!
Also tea at the Mad Hatter's party.
There seemed to be no use in waiting by the little door, so she went back to the table, half hoping she might find another key on it, or at any rate a book of rules for shutting people up like telescopes: this time she found a little bottle on it, (‘which certainly was not here before,’ said Alice,) and round the neck of the bottle was a paper label, with the words ‘DRINK ME’ beautifully printed on it in large letters. It was all very well to say ‘Drink me,’ but the wise little Alice was not going to do that in a hurry . ‘No, I’ll look first,’ she said, ‘and see whether it’s marked “poison” or not’; for she had read several nice little histories about children who had got burnt, and eaten up by wild beasts and other unpleasant things, all because they would not remember the simple rules their friends had taught them: such as that a red-hot poker will burn you if you hold it too long; and that if you cut your finger very deeply with a knife, it usually bleeds; and she had never forgotten that, if you drink much from a bottle marked ‘poison,’ it is almost certain to disagree with you, sooner or later.. However this bottle was not marked ‘poison,’ so Alice ventured to taste it, and finding it very nice, (it had, in fact, a sort of mixed flavour of cherry-tart, custard, pine-apple, roast turkey, toffee, and hot buttered toast,) she very soon finished it off.

Ginger beer from Enid Blyton's Famous Five? “ginger beer is a gorgeous drink – it seems to go with simply everything”

I did a Mad Hatter's Tea Party theme a few years ago so thanks for reminding me I still have all the 'Drink Me' 'Eat Me' labels somewhere! And I remember "lashings and lashings of ginger beer" but not sure if that's Famous Five or Swallows and Amazons...

Lashings of ginger beer was from the spoof Five go Mad in Dorset with Dawn French and Co.
