Great list misty, my thoughts for what they're worth:
We need to talk about Kevin - Lionel Shriver - was annoyed yet fascinated by this one. Into the Darkest Corner - Elizabeth Haynes - good read. One Day - David Nicholls - enjoyed.
Before I Go To Sleep - S J Watson - good read. The Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Attwood - one of my faves too Ella Minnow Pea - Mark Dunn - a really good book I've recommended to others The Mayor of Casterbridge - Thomas Hardy - one of very few books I've read more than once, love it but makes me cry! The French Lieutenant's Woman - John Fowles - love all his books

I don't have a list so will add them as I think of them - Outlander/Cross Stitch by Diana Gabaldon - The year is 1945. Claire Randall, a former combat nurse, is just back from the war and reunited with her husband on a second honeymoon when she walks through a standing stone in one of the ancient circles that dot the British Isles. Suddenly she is a Sassenach—an “outlander”—in a Scotland torn by war and raiding border clans in the year of Our Lord...1743. This is also one of my ATFR. I would add: The Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean Auel Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood All of the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett Most books by Georgette Heyer (apart from the mysteries)
