I've made a list of the categories and have trawled my spreadsheet to see what will fit. I've got a few missing, but I can fill those in with library books. Some I've picked will change, I'm sure! I tend to do it the other way around - every time I finish a book I check to see if it'll fit any of the categories. By Oct/Nov, though, I start looking specifically for books to fill any remaining blanks. I do the same as Penny, fit where they will til about Sept then start looking for ones to fill the gaps. I have got a small list of books that I know I want to read asap and I've looked ahead to where they will fot but it's only 4 or 5 books, and only cos I know I want to read them anyway! Nat

I leave some categories blank if I'm not sure, and don't zip straight out to buy a book (as tempting as that is!!) as there are some which I don't really know if a particular book fits. For instance, I don't have a clue which of the books on my bookshelf are dual timeline... but I'm hoping I pick one up and it happens to be. Was the case with The Girl on the Train - I wanted to read it anyway and was pleasantly surprised to find it was multiple narrator as I didnt have a candidate for that! Here's a link for you... www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/dual-timelineThanks Ellie, I've added that link to the master list

My current book fits loads of categories: It's over 500 pages (1), it has a several chapters which are flashbacks to the 1960s (2), the flashback chapters are told from the point of view of a 10-year old girl (24), the title is Ghost Girl (19), it's a mystery (10), which is part of a series (35), the main sleuth is a woman (29) and I borrowed it from the library (22) - now all I have to do is decide which category I'm going to list it against............

Thanks Ellie! I've scrolled to Page 3 and don't currently own any of the books on the list... but there are obviously a couple I would like to read. Maybe for the next book shop

Maybe for the next book shop I can recommend any of the Kate Morton books noted on Page 1 .. All 5 Star from me and ones I regularly see in Charity shops ..

Well I've swapped my shelves around to have a 40BC shelf, and there's plenty on it, with several choices for some of the categories.
It's also highlighted the categories for which I don't currently have anything on my TBR. It's about 9 of them but some of them should be easy like "a book from the library" and of course some like, "a strong female lead" will show themselves when I read them (thinking female detective here!!) so overall I feel quite organised.
Struggling with food and drink titles again this year though - any suggestions?

Had marked it for dual timeline but will keep it on either in case I don't find another. Clearly I lack the lateral thinking needed for this
