I'm losing track of all these prize name changes, but I guess this is the one that used to be the Orange prize and then the Bailey's prize? Anyway, here's the 16-strong longlist for the current year:
The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker on my Wishlist Remembered by Yvonne Battle-Felton My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite Milkman by Anna Burns Looked at this when it won the Booker and didn't fancy it Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi Ordinary People by Diana Evans Swan Song by Kelleigh Greenberg-Jephcott An American Marriage by Tayari Jones Number One Chinese Restaurant by Lillian Li Bottled Goods by Sophie van Llewyn Lost Children Archive by Valeria Luiselli Praise Song for the Butterflies by Bernice L. McFadden Circe by Madeline Miller I started this but couldn't get into it at the time. Might revisit Ghost Wall by Sarah Moss Normal People by Sally Rooney The only one I've read and it did very little for me, I'm afraid
Most of these I've not heard of at all, and of those that have crossed my radar none really appeals greatly, I'm afraid - even the Pat Barker. But I shall watch out for reviews in case I'm overlooking some gems!

I've read My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite which I really enjoyed.

The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker - like this author, may try this one at some point Remembered by Yvonne Battle-Felton - hadn't heard of this one, but like the sound of it a lot, may order it My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite - heard and seen lots of good reviews and hype for this one, may try at some point Milkman by Anna Burns not sure this is for me, has had some great reviews, have heard it's much easier to get along with on audiobook than on the page Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi not sure this is for me. Been a bit of debate about the author Ordinary People by Diana Evans don't know much about this one Swan Song by Kelleigh Greenberg-Jephcott don't know much about this one though seen good reviews of it An American Marriage by Tayari Jones read this last year and enjoyed a lot Number One Chinese Restaurant by Lillian Li don't know much about this one Bottled Goods by Sophie van Llewyn on my tbr Lost Children Archive by Valeria Luiselli don't know much about this one Praise Song for the Butterflies by Bernice L. McFadden don't know much about this one Circe by Madeline Miller seen great reviews, liked her earlier novel, may try this on audiobook Ghost Wall by Sarah Moss on my wishlist, seen great reviews of this Normal People by Sally Rooney read this and enjoyed

I'm not at all impressed by Sally Rooney, to be honest. Don't understand the acclaim My favourites of the ones i have read are Milkman and the Sarah Moss, both of which are excellent. The Milkman is a challenging read, and Ghost Wall is really really chilling..... Quite liked the Tayari Jones - but on the whole this isn't a particularity inspiring list
