Harrumph! That guy obviously makes a lot of money arranging books on shelves for people who don't love reading!

Yes, that's totally "books as furniture". Take this for example: " Turn a cover out, one per shelf" It's what we do in the shop to graphically show what the shelf is about, attract attention and boost sales. But at home? Who has the space? There are a couple of things I agree with, though:
"there is no wrong way to organise your books"
and " You don't have to have read them all" (good to know we're allowed a TBR...)

Hmmmm .. each to their own, I say .. not everyone has a house that can accommodate a bank of bookshelves, as much as we might all crave one .. I don't really like the horizontal layout, unless I need to squeeze books in between the vertical ones and the shelf above (which I have to do a lot), I don't do the cover to the front either .. Plus, I'm not much of a 'trinket' girl, so I don't need to leave room for such things - my bookcases are for books and all the shelves are double parked .. I have started using my collection of paperweights as bookends though, which break up any spaces and can be easily moved about when new books arrive ..

Very amusing read. That being said, my arranging strategy is "If it fits, it stays. The snugger the better". That's provided that I have bookshelves on which to arrange anything to begin with! My overspill is now in a stack on the floor...
