I've read that in a collection of his short stories. Hmm... I wouldn't have said it's exactly like what's happening now, but see what you think!

Yes, I'll be reading it today. My Dad often used to talk about this story - it made a profound impression on him as being incredibly prescient about what might happen if something major interrupted modern life in some way. I've got it on my Kindle and have been meaning to read it for a long time.
