I noticed when on holiday, several women of differing ages reading various books by Colleen Hoover. I had a look on here and see that a few of you have read books by her. Can you give me some insight into what genre they fall into and which would be the best one to start with. I got Regretting You on a kindle deal the other day.

I enjoy Colleen Hoover, I find somehow her writing style just works for me even though the books themselves span different genres. Most are marketed as "Romance" though there are some exceptions e.g. Verity is a crime novel. Even the romance is not chick-lit though, usually more angst-y, with elements of dysfunctional relationships as major plot themes.
I don't think any of her books are written as series, though there are the odd duology e.g. It Ends With You / It Starts With You. These do need to be read in the right order to make sense. For the others, other than evolution of her writing style over time so far I haven't encountered any cross-over between the stories, so I think they can be read in any order. If you're looking to get a sense of her style though, I would say don't start with Verity as it is very different from the others. I read Reminders of Him first (then her newest book) and afterwards went back to the back catalogue. Haven't read Regretting You.

I haven't read any of hers as they don't really appeal but I saw some comments in a FB book group the other day about her books. A few commented that they were mainly for YA readers and some were not impressed by them at all.
