My plan for January is always to make as big a dent in the lunatics challenge as I possibly can! I also had a bit of a shelf rearrange recently while finding books to fit categories, and came up with a secondary challenge of reading as many hardbacks as I can (as in, those that I intend to read and pass on, mainly because I want the space back).
More specifically, carrying over: Eye for an Eye by M.J. Arlidge (fiction), Show Me the Bodies by Peter Apps (NF) and It Started With a Tweet by Anna Bell (audio) Zoom Buddy Read: Home Before Dark by Riley Sager
Buddy read with my friend: TBC (The Mysterious Case of the Alperton Angels by Janice Hallett)
Hardbacks to-read-next: The Silent Treatment by Abbie Greaves, Hold by Michael Donkor, Heat Wave by Richard Castle Other to-read-next (because I'm not yet ready to stop with the Christmas reads): Murder Under the Christmas Tree by various authors (short story collection), The Dead of Winter by Stuart McBride, Murder on the Christmas Express by Alexandra Benedict

I like the idea of reading the hardbacks. I did that one year and got almost all of them out of the way, but they have multiplied again, of course My plan for Jan: 1001 books list:The Museum of Unconditional Surrender by Dubravka Ugrešić finished 4/1/24Audio: Sarum by Edward Rutherfurd finished 28/1/24, audio took almost all monthA book I was given: Love, Lies and Linguine by Hilary Spiers Gave up on this one - it was book 2, I haven't read the first, and I wasn't connecting with the characters.Chunkster: Food for Life by Tim Spector Finished 30/1/24 Next in series: Cinderella Goes to the Morgue by Nancy Spain Finished 17/1/24 Library book: Gosta Berling's Saga by Selma Lagerlöf Finished 12/1/24 And not one but three Dick Francis books:Enquiry finished 5/1/24, Reflex finished 21/1/24, Odds Against finished 25/1/24

Dirty Tricks is a carry-over.
Then I've been looking through the Book Challenge and identified a few books on my TBR. I've also got a few library reservations in which fulfil categories and ordered one from Abe Books. So hopefully everything I read in January will cover a category.
