Finished Girl With A Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier, found it okay but could have been more. It felt to me like much of the book was going to the market and going back home, which drove me nuts, although the main premise is much more than that i.e. the story behind an actual painting. I was telling the Zoom crew about this one, and in that process figured out that I probably would have liked it more had I been the slightest bit interested in art, which I'm just not.
Up next will be Your House Will Pay by Steph Cha, and I also started Shrines of Gaiety by Kate Atkinson on audio.

I finished Call the Dying on Monday. Another 2-week read but I think it was that I was just not applying enough time.
I'm now about a third of the way through Body Breaker by MW Craven the second in his Avison Fluke duology.

Your House Will Pay by Steph Cha was a really powerful story, one that will likely stay with me a long time after it inspired me to go read up on the real incident that inspired this book. I only dropped half a star (and then rounded down on Goodreads) because I thought the ending was so sudden, I had turned the page fully expecting the next chapter and was very surprised to find the Acknowledgements instead.
I also finished the book that I was buddy reading with a colleague: Three Card Murder by J.L. Blackhurst. I loved the premise of a pair of sisters (one cop, one skirting the law) getting caught up in a series of locked-room mysteries, so much so that I recommended it to my colleague so we could buddy read. The premise held but unfortunately I thought the writing was far too messy, the characters spent ages going round and round in circles and although I liked the core of the crime investigation, it consisted a smaller proportion of the book than I would have liked.
Have just started reading The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein.

I finished Body Breaker on Sunday afternoon. Such a shame he only wrote two with these characters.
I've now started another library book Close to Death by Anthony Horowitz, the 5th in his Horowitz and Hawthorne series
