Oh yes, I remember you were reading this too! How did you do? I've made it to half way. I'm not sure I'm enjoying it exactly, but it's interesting. I have it for 3 weeks from the library before the next person wants it, so I'm on target - still two weeks left. There are some easy bits where there are only a few words on the page, which helps It reminds me of the Blair Witch Project, which came out about the same time. It seems to add another layer of fiction onto something similar to that.

I have no idea what I put up for the BFG challenge in the other place. Even though I relisted my entire TBR this last week nothing popped into my memory. So as I only ever give myself 3 (what with the big challenge every year, and my own Mrs Mac' challenge) it's not hard to find 3 large ones. Mrs Engels - Gavin McCreaThe Light between Oceans - M L SteadmanAll Their Minds in Tandem - David SangerSo...... sometime this year Save

I think mine were: The Goldfinch - Donna Tartt and I am Pilgrim - Terry Hayes read
There may have been a third, I'm not sure. But since I've started neither of these and the year is nearly a quarter of the way through I think I'll stick at 2 now

No I haven't started yet but I managed to find a relatively cheap copy on Ebay as my library didn't appear to have one (though have since had a conversation with a lovely lady there who says "I love a challenge" and has offered to find me anything I want no matter where from, I can get books from other authorities all over South Wales for no charge). Anyway I want to start it soon and may list it as one of my BFG's too as I'm not sure I remember my list. I just wanted to know how you were finding it as it has mixed reviews and does look like a true challenge! lol

At over 500 pages my current read fits the bill, so my BFG read is Silent in the Sanctuary by Deanna Raybourn.

Mine was the last book in the Game of Thrones series, split into two parts.
A Dance with Dragons - Dreams & Dust A Dance with Dragons - After the Feast
The amount I've challenged myself to read this year, I'll do well to get these done... I might have to carry them over for a third year!

I didn't originally set myself any BFG books, but as I need to read one for the 40 book challenge anyway I am going to read The Blind Assassin - Margaret Atwood.

I finished House of Leaves. It gets 5 stars for originality and I'm glad I read it but I don't imagine I'll read it again. It got easier after the half way point, and the letters in the appendix were illuminating. It's the kind of book you might be tempted to reread from a different perspective after knowing the ending... but my copy's going back to the library!
